Why doesn’t LFK list a saint every day?

Saints' days are listed according to the Liturgical Calendar for the Dioceses of the USA. The devotion is sometimes, but not always, about that saint. Rather, themes are inspired by the Scripture quote selected by the writer.

Why can’t I find a Bible verse in LFK?

It’s probably because you’re using a different version of the Bible. All our quotes and citations come from the New American Bible (NAB). The NAB is a Catholic Bible that includes 7 Old Testament books that aren’t in Protestant versions (Baruch, Sirach, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Tobit and Wisdom). Generally, this is the same text that is used in the Lectionary for Mass, but there are a few exceptions.

Can I write for Living Faith Kids?

“Imprimatur” is Latin for “let it be printed.” When granted by a bishop, it means the publication is free of any doctrinal or moral error. Living Faith Kids seeks an imprimatur in order to be in harmony with the teaching of the Catholic Church.

What does an Imprimatur mean?

We always consider the work of potential contributors. Please study the publication for our format and style, then send us a few sample devotions, prayers or games. If you want your materials returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Also mention any skills, work or experience that make you especially suited to be a Living Faith Kidswriter. If we offer you an assignment, you will be notified regarding dates, Scripture passages, deadlines and payment at that time. Due to the volume of submissions, we do not comment on each one.

Kids!

We welcome your input, whether it’s sharing a thought or prayer, asking a question about the faith or just saying hello. Send your comments to editor@livingfaithkids.com or mail us at 1564 Fencorp Drive, Fenton, MO 63026. If we use your material in a future issue, we will let you know and only use your first name, city and state for security purposes
